In this blog I will explain in detail why & also will give you tips on how to find the perfect niche for your YouTube Channel
We will touch on these keypoints in more detail below. We will explain in as much detail as we can for each of the keypoints listed!
• Finding the perfect niche for your YouTube channel can be difficult, unless you already have a niche in mind? If that is the case then you also need to still read what I have to say in this blog post, because it can still help
you gain even more exposure, if you just try and follow some of these keypoints and tips I will be explaining.
Let us start with picking a niche subject, say for example "Gaming", so I know what your all thinking, this is a really highly saturated niche to get into, because millions and millions of youtubers already do content for this type of Niche!
Well this is where the keypoints I stated above will come in. So stay tuned to read more below.
Question: Why is research important?
Answer: Because if you research it gives you a big advantage!
• So we have decided to use "Gaming" as our example for this blog post, so if your niche is something else, then just put your niche in my example's place. So firstly, ask yourself this question? What games do i like? "obviously if it is a different niche, just slightly change the question!"
When you come up with an answer, then you have some sub niche, then you can start searching via youtube and google for those specific "games" see what videos show up.
So then you get to see how many videos show up for that "game", you could even go a step further, so say for example you liked the game "Portal 2" you could then think about what could you do in terms of customising it, like for example, portal 2 game you can make your own maps in hammer editor, I know because i did myself, and I actually did make some video tutorials for hammer editor, one of which lists in the top spots in most hammer search terms now via YouTube.
So you see, I have now broken the niche genre of "Gaming" down even further, so I chose "Gaming, then I chose "Portal 2", Then I chose oh I can actually make my own maps. so that further breaks it down, and makes it even more of a sub niche. So you just need to try and do this for your chosen Niche too.
If you read my blog post I posted yesterday you can find here: Why are YouTube views and likes important
You would see that I said a line "What if the genre I use is highly saturated already?" Well this is where this blog post comes in, I am explaining in as much detail as I can to help you pinpoint, and pick sub genres inside your niche, or even pick sub genres of sub genres to further break down results in youtube where less videos are available for.
Question: Why are sub niche/genres important?
Answer: Because sub niches or sub genres further break down your chosen niche into less saturated niches!
• "Why should I though?" Because it is important, the more research you do, by doing your own youtube or even google searches for your specific niche/sub niche you will see why what I am saying makes total sense!
I mean yes it is a lot of work, research can be boring, but hey, your researching for the niche you like anyway, so you can find videos in your niche you might not have saw before, and you might actually have fun at the same time. Don't see this as something as hard, just see it has something fun to do, to help you out.
So I have kinda answered about sub niches above in previous keypoint, but that is because they do intertwine with eachother the keypoints above.
• Lets move on to using YouTube and google searches. So using YouTube and Google search is important for finding your sub niches, as i touched on above, You should also make use of the awesome extra search tools, like the one where you can select "past Hour" or "Past 24 Hours" or even "Past Week Or Past Month" these can help you see how busy or popular a genre or sub genre is and very very useful when researching.
Make it fun to do research, don't see it as a chore!
We hope that this blog has been helpful to you, and we hope that it can help you research the perfect niche/sub niches to gain more exposure. Feel free to comment below....
